Comparison of Ukraine and Israel is one of those topics that has been discussed ad nauseam since 2014. There are always lessons that can be learned from Israelis, but you can not replicate another Israel in another land which has a completely different history and, among other things, different neighbours. And different partners, by the way.

About the figures (because the devil is in the details):
The Ukrainian adult male population of all ages is estimated as 14 to 15 mln, including occupied territories, including those who left the country. The total number of Ukrainian defence forces is not disclosed today, but is probably around 1.2 mln in all branches, reserves, including local defence formations. So, it's already close to 10%.
Adult males (all ages) are about 25% of all Ukrainian refugees registered in the EU.

And this kind advice of yours, "Ukrainians, including the estimated five million who fled since 2022, need to see the invasion as an existential struggle for their people", sounds somewhat strange. With all my respect, do you really think that you can teach Ukrainians how to see the invasion that is killing us every day and night?
