Putin still has an active arrest warrant issued by the ICC.

... which is completely and totally and 100% meaningless because the US administration and many other countries will never action it. FFS Putin has even visited the US, and was treated like royalty, since that arrest warrant was issued.

Furthermore the US administration has not only made it clear they will not allow any Nuremberg style war crimes trials against Putin and his underlings BUT is also actively trying to destroy the ICC and therefore render all investigations and arrest warrants against all persons guilty of crimes against humanity null and void.

I would add more but that would result in me being banned for political comment.

The current U.S. administration may not be acting on it, but this is only temporary, unlike the warrant.

I honestly don't think Putin will survive this mess he created and the warrant may not be needed in the long run.

Tangentially related:

Among all the nations that Russia has dealt with in the past, Germany should remain fresh in their memory.

If Russia keeps f**king with Germany like this, it could lead to involving NATO - something Putin should really think twice about.
