I formated my hard drive a few weeks back and since then I'm receiveng the following message every now and then... Sometimes it says "scanpcpro.com", sometimes "fix64.com" sometimes an other website. (See screenshot.) I know it is spyware related because of some searches I made on Google.
I ran a scan with Ad-Aware, Spybot and even my anti-virus (NOD32) but they found nothing. Now, how do I get rid of that sh*t ? On every God damned website I went, they describe the problem but they don't say how to get rid of it.
Hitman pro. It is a combination of all free anti-spam progs. If it doesn't find it, nothing will. Unfortunately I think it's in dutch. Futhermore AVG has some very good progs agains spam and Virusses, all for free it's also very good.
I would suggest the RegCleaner application to see in Windows register file all registered programs, especially in the Autorun section. And then you can remove all suspicious ones.
BTW.You can clean up your register file too.
If it failed you can reinstall Windows as Gnomey suggested but before you do it you could also try to reinstall your Internet Explorer or other Web browser you have installed ,firstly. Its instalator file should have the repair option.
As shown in the Maestro's Windows screen shot, his WEB browser is also Mozilla Firefox, but it doesn't mean it is safe. These guys who write "worms" and "viruses" are the best at this. Most of us, average users, are not able to prevent our systems attacking.
Now, I agree with you.
In my oppinion the best way to prevent our system is to learn more and more about systems and its properties and structure. In this way only we can solve all problems with viruses etc...
