I have just scanned my Lancaster manual and will be posting soon but there are four pages that I need better copies of to make a good copy for the forum. I may later find I need more pages.
Does anyone have a copy of AP 2062A&C v1 Lancaster I & III that has better copies of the following four diagrams from Section 4 Chapter 1 - or even of the damaged parts of the four diagrams? If so can you please scan then as 600dpi colour (colour makes conversion to black and white much easier). If the page is damaged can you scan with a fairly dark contrasting colour background as this allows for the damage to be easily repaired. Removing a black background removes all the text and diagrams
On the first of these I have partially processed it showing how the coloured background helps.
Spent the last couple of hours trying to clean up the cover of binder 1. This is about the best I can do at present. I separated off the front cover and did the next stage but it looks too artificial to me. Trying to get better scans from another source.
Oh well, thanks for trying anyway
I will cut and paste the top off figure 2, 3 or 4 onto the top of my figure 1 and that will at least complete most of the diagram
Might even get binder 1 posted today
This section 4 is a bear and taking far too long from trying to make a mess like this readable. Going to go back and rescan it with other settings. Sometimes I think the manual writers went out of their way to put page folds where it will make the most problems for someone 80 years later
Binder one is now finished and posted. I decided to fake up a "balanced" cover using the crappy cover off my binder 1 and will use the same cover for binder two. File is OCR'd.
And here is binder 2. I let the software do its thing and remove all the binding holes on this one as that is much faster. The down sides are that there is no visual reference for me that a page is missing and that the pages all have the same top and outer margins rather than the true margins but the upside is that the software does in minutes what takes hours the other way. The file is OCR'd.
EDIT: there is a rumour that the file makes more sense if the text is included. File replaced
Starting with this section from the Vol 1 - Descriptive Manual. This vol 1 is for the Lincoln I & II which started life as the Lancaster IV and V.
The copy I am scanning is interesting in that about half the pages are original and about half are photocopies. Unfortunately the Amendment record is missing along with these pages .
Add to that there are two complete section 6's, one early and one late.
This section I am posting is the early section 6, mainly photocopies.
