I know this thread is ancient, but just ran across it in 2026. Carl E. Johnson was my grandfather and while researching his plane (I am new to modelling after 40+ years away) came across this post while searching for 351st decals, markings, etc. so I could build one to match one of the aircraft he was on. So cool to see someone building one these! Looking for a Triangle J decal and any other markings I end up needing. I have a picture of him and I when he was alive inside a B-17 at Rickenbacker Air Base from back in 2008. Building the plane to display with it.
Please share the photo.

Welcome to the Clan.
I would like to help you out if needed. Your quest looks like an interesting one.
I have been doing decal art for a couple of years for a high quality printer here in Oz.
I have done a little search, have found a couple of Fearless Fosdick nose art B-17.
Triangle J was of the 351st B.G. / 510th B.S., was the serial 43-37862? There were several "J" A/C.

Do you have a photo of his A/C? Do you have a photo of the nose art?
If I can help please let me know. Most of my Group Build entries have custom printed decals.
Cheers, Bill

I plan to make this same mold in a few months. I'm waiting for some 0.5mm diameter 0603 size micro LEDs to add interior lighting, and your post will be extremely useful for detailing the inside of mine. Spectacular work!
