I read this afternoon that the Lone Star Flight Museum sold Thunderbird to a group out of Mt Pleasant, TX. Mid American Flightg Museum. I first saw Thunderbird before Lone Star opened in Galveston. It was parked in a hanger at Hobby airport in SE Houston. My father stumbled across it one day and drove me out to see it on my day off. If I remember right, it was brought over from England. All we could make out was the cool nose art. The musuem has not been the same since the founder passed away. I think the hurrican finished off the wonder collection. For years, I would go with my father monthly and we would stay from open to close. We know most of the staff and was allowed to go anywhere and behind the ropes.
