Bad photo - what is it

Saw this BEAUTIFUL plane flying around Idaho Falls, Idaho today. Thought it was a Ford Tri Motor but the front end doesn't look right. Sorry for the awful photos, but its the best I could get with my phone. Any idea what it is?

You're right . It is a tri motor.

It actually does look like a Ford Trimotor.

The Stinson and Fokker have rounded edges to their horizontal stabilizers where the Ford's are squared.

Was the EAA's Trimotor visiting your area, perhaps?

No idea GG. But what a sound it had. Wife got mad because I had to stop the car and get out to watch it fly by.....twice.

The EAA's Trimotor is a 1929 4-AT-E and is powered by Wright Whirlwinds and they sound sweet as hell (as most radials do).
I rode in it a few years back, one of the sweetest, smoothest rides you'll ever experience.
