was wondering if there were any Luftwaffe Bf109 photo recon pilots
that became aces while only flying recon missions during the big one?
hope this makes sense. pics/and or descriptions would be great!
thanks in advance.

Top scoring Aufklärer was Herbert Findeisen with 67 "Kills", all on the Eastern Front. He served with 2./NAGr. 13, 1./NAGr. 4 and 2./NAGr. 4 before becoming an instructor. He ended up back on operations as Gr.Kdr. II./JG 54 (a normal fighter unit) in 1945. 42 of his 67 "kills" were as an Aufklärer. I'm not sure if all his claims were made flying Bf 109s of if some were made flying a FW 190.

There were about 20 more Aufklärer with 5 or more "kills", probably nearly all claimed on the Eastern Front. One exception is Friedrich Stannek with 6 "kills" who flew with 4.(H)/12 in North Africa and Italy during 1942 and 1943.

awesome information! thanks! I'll have to research those planes. its seems that the NAGr training units had the most interesting
camo schemes. thanks again.
