Box art.....

Here is a kit I picked up recently JUST for the box art.
This is a rather strange painting to represent the A6M2 Type 0 fighter because as far as I know, only one aircraft ever had this configuration.
V-172 from the Tainan Kokutai was forced down and recovered by the AVG in China. There are other photographs of this aeroplane that are missing the panel behind the cowl. One was fabricated locally to replace it, and thus we have louvered panels there unlike any other Type 0 fighter.
The paint job on this box art is also very similar to the repaint to Chinese Nationalist Air Force markings.

This is one I bought just for the box art. It reminds me of the cover of a Men's Adventure Magazine for the 60's, except that the other pilots jumping in their P-39's were scantily clad females.

Looking at the plane itself, it's an older and unmodified B-25C/D (has a belly turret and has no tail- and waist-gun positions) with a tail # 6F denoting the 486th BS.
That was a friend of mine's unit. They modified many of their older B-25's with no belly turret and a tailgunner position that looked a lot like the factory one on B-25H/J.

The boxart for the IBG 1/32 scale kit of the PZL P-11c.
