can anyone please tell me what this gauge is and what plane it came out of thanks

Its an RAF, Air Ministry "Rate of Climb" gauge , used on the standard six instrument, blind flying panel fitted on most British aircraft in WW2

It should have 6A/723 or 6A/942 printed in dark blue on the face. Spitfire panel shown as example.

There are multiple versions of this gauge - not just the two part numbers mentioned.
Look for the part number and post that I and I can probably tell you which aircraft it was used on if WW2, but not pre war.
