This is an example of really getting carried away with attaining Laminar Flow. 18-25 MPG is claimed for the Celera 500L. But how do they see out of that thing?
Yeah, at the very least one pointing forward and down so they can see the friggin' runway on final. I would be surprised if they did not already have that. A Tesla car has what, four cameras?
One guy I knew built a very nice wooden homebuilt, a Falco, I think. He installed cameras in the wheel wells so he could make sure the gear retraction system was working Okay and just left them in there. On his flight coming back from the West Coast he noted some kind of a problem with the gear and was able to pull some circuit breakers in-flight in order to solve the problem of the MLG door getting in the way of the gear.
