Looks like 38.214 inches to me, which seems right having seen an F4U.

Thanks for replying Paul. I can't tell if it's 35.214, 36.214, 38.214 I 've asked Richard Wright what he thought since he is really informative on the Corsair, and he thinks it's 35.214, and was going to further investigate it. Because I'd like to know the exact measurement!

You could try getting hold of the Flying Heritage Collection in Everett to see if they can get you an answer. They seem to have a good PR group and have just recently added a Corsair to their collection.
Add the 2 dimensions 22.000 and 12 .750 and compare the dimension. I am guessing 35.214. The total of the dimension will give a good indication as it will only be 0,464 difference. if it were 38,214 it is a 3 inch difference. ptin off the drawing and use dividers to work it out,
