With the 5N, rockets, is their a firing order? Like in board to outboard? Single or pairs per launch?

We can rule out salvo firing.

When the rockets were first installed on the -1s, each squeeze of the trigger fired one rocket from each side, starting outboard and working inward. The main switch could be set to auto to fire everything by holding the trigger down, with rockets alternating left and right.

Reports from the field noted that shell casing and links frequently damaged the fins of the inboard rockets if the guns were fired before the rockets were launched, so beginning on 17 March 1945 the firing order was reversed, with one launch from each side beginning with the inboard rockets and working their way outward.

I might suspect the -5 had the same firing order, but with the second inboard rocket repositioned forward, the casings and linkage issue may have been solved and the order reversed again to begin with the outboard rockets. So, this is more of an indication of possibilities than an actual answer to your question...

Cheers,

Dana

It was my Best guess it would be Outboard to keep the weight constantly Inboard for stability, moment of inertia?
Hadn't considered the forward mounted rocket burning fins to those on either side.

I'm building Bordelon's plane wheels up, flying, two rockets parting the plane and Four stars under canopy, Fifth coming up!

So is why I needed to have the first pair correct. Ill go with Outboard........

I admit to not knowing very much about flying characteristics, as I have never flown a plane. However, I have read many articles (including in this group) stating if external fuel tanks were not emptied properly it could GREATLY affect fly - ability. My question is simple. Wouldn't the same laws of physics apply with rockets? I would assume an entire salvo from one side would effect stability. I may be way of the beam but would a massive release of under wing rockets actually effect forward mobility? Thoughts?
