Thank you. Nice to see Dr. Dick Hellion in the first video--USAF Historian Emeritus.
I wrote the first posthumous bio of LeMay, and it's a stretch to say he's the one that (sic) implemented strategic bombing. It existed well before he arrived in the UK in 42 but he certainly influenced the evolution in the ETO and PTO.

Moreover, he ran airpower's non-violent victory in the Berlin Airlift and then raised SAC from a multi-engine flying club to a global deterrent. I think it's safe to say that he was one of a handful of irreplaceable leaders in WW II. Hap Arnold had nobody else to come off the bench and replace LeMay in the B29 program.
