Or, after too many years doing that, get a 'tin tent' - one that has wheels, a kitchen, toilet and, of course, a cooker, but most importantly, a fridge, for the beer !
Got the best of both worlds then !!
 
You haven't camped out till you've slept under the stars, no tent.

Gets a little wet in the early morning from the dew, and if you get a early morning rain, you're screwed.

I used to keep a space blanket nearby for severe rain, but you'd get about as wet from sweat then.

Try that in Minnesota. Not only will you wake up damp from the morning dew, you will need a blood transfusion from all the mosquitos that have feasted on you all night long. Not to mention the ticks you'll be picking off you the rest of the day, many in places you can't reach, and some in places you would really prefer not to have a tick attached to.
