Difference between a Bf-109E and Bf-109F ?

As a side note (regarding various versions)

I think most of the German aces preferred the BF-109 E or the BF-109 G since those lacked wing cannons making the fighter more agile (no dead weight on the wings), also, the gun platform would be better with all the fire coming from a centre line.

If I can recall correctly, this was (amongst all the aces) Hartmann's preference.

Not adding anything to the thread really, I know, merely working up my post count; but I've recon you've seen worse.
