Top checkers laid out, still a bit short but lined up with the O.D.. Placed the wing star and bar on as well. This being a bullet proof Tamiya decal, I poured the Walther's to it and will check in half an hour whether this was a good thing or not. I have plenty of spares

Thanks Vic. I've never used this type of decal before. I assume I cut out the clear film in the cut-out and pray for the best? I tried it with a paper copy and it wasn't very promising

If I'm right in thinking that 'V' gap would fit at the bottom over the air scoop, I would be inclined to cut that out hoping for a better fit. Can you see if the decal edge follows the 'V' or is it solid clear decal.
 
Thanks guys. I just applied the right side lower checkers. I did this side first as some time during decal placement on the left side, I must have slightly nudge the checkers under the exhaust, not much, maybe 1/2 a mil. The gap in the decal closed together by itself. I had removed the clear section while still on the sheet. Pics later
 
As promised, both decals are now on and as feared, there was a slight line up issue and was in only one of two areas I was worried about. The area where the two lower decals meet is not supposed to be as concaved. Out of my pay-grade to fix but I'm pretty happy that everything else pretty much lined up. I looked at the fuel filler caps in the photos I have and these are red on this aircraft, no decals so I'll have to paint them
