I've been doing a lot of reading on the 345th BG lately and so doing a 345th BG Air Apache is a must. Though I know they are most likely depicted B-25 for the PTO I can't help it. their exploits throughout the SW PTO theater of operations are unmitigated success.

The kit decals include "Cactus Kitten" so I may use them or these, "Jaunty Jo" and " Grand Slam" are also glass nose aircraft. I wonder if the Monogram Hard nose would fit??????

Don,

If you like reading on the 345th you may find these interesting to get. Otherwise if you know what your looking for I can look and see if I can find the info. The book in the first picture lower right is the updated version of the one you posted.

All the best

Paul

Thanks Paul, the two Warpath look to be the same one I have different covers. I'll have to look up some of the others.

I beleive so but mine first one says just Schiffer and no author but beleive its same author. I took these pictures with a camera but I can scan them if you can't read it. First chapter picture for left book. The other pictures from Right book. Looks like there are 5 versions of the book.

Interesting enough, my dad ment MG Crabb informally while stationed in Japan in 46. As a MO on gate guard he said he would come out at night and before he was within salute range, he would turn around and backup to the gate guards and make some comment like have you seen my dog? And than just chat with the guards and than go on about his rounds.

Paul found the Schiffer from Amazon for $26.
Cool sounds like a deal. The newest one will be the hard one to find a sale I think or Warpath across the Pacific by the International Historical research Associates but then again its the newest rev and with Hickey passing away there will be no more under him but well worth the price as it has the newest info and pictures.

Guys, they are not the same or 2 different editions of the same book. The original "Warpath..." - book by Hickey is the book on the right.

The other one is a reprint of the original war diary of the 345th BG., so no author - it's documentary. I remember how happy I was after buying that book maybe 20 years ago for under 30$ on Evilbay (Hickey was normally around 80-100, today is around 200+). When I saw it, the bitter truth came out. But it's not bad at all - it's documentary with some low quality photos from the war journals of the squadrons. Instead of searching the net or Fold3 for war diaries, there they are.

OK lets get started.
1) tap out the exhaust ports on the engine cowling.

I both love and HATE the tungsten bit sets I have. Love sharp and drill great. Hate they break and the first slight bend. I shakes a bit...

This is what I killed on those holes.

Next clean and test mate the fuselage.

Next Pull out the old Monogram B-25J hard nose and test playing around...

Can it be done, I think it would be a bit of Plastic surgery. Looks to be a bit too narrow to start with so if it were to be done there would have to be a patch to get itti the width needed and some clean up. the nose cap would probably need to be modified to fit al well.

Hope it works out, Don. Love those bits as well and get the same results....no shakes. I also have some very small bits that came in a plastic dome which is long gone and the bits now reside in my drill handle.
Yeah I too had the set in the dome. Good bits. I have a dozen sets of bits and pin vices but these tungsten bits are the best, until they break! I buy them from Amazon in a set of six sets at a time.
