First Brengun kit for me. Looks great, lots of detail and lots of tiny parts. A small sheet of PE parts. Also what looks like a fairly challenging camouflage scheme.

Well now that it's Juneuary here on the left coast and the prediction is for a week of rain, Time to get at this kit. The only thing I've noticed is the parts don't match the parts in the instructions in some places but other wise a flawless looking kit. The camouflage looks challenging and attaching the parasol wing does as well. Should be an interesting kit to build.

I have a memory of my grandfather's stories about the raids of the "pava" and "superpava" against Republican positions, how, like the Stukas, they dived and their AA could do little, and how they took cover from the attack as best they could, and when they recovered, pulling back on the rudder, they would dive out to fill them with shrapnel, if they were lucky enough not to have destroyed the AA...
They also did the same against columns of civilians fleeing the front, against columns of civilians abandoning, for example, Madrid towards Valencia or Barcelona. Albocasser, a town with no strategic value in the middle of the Sierra de Maestrat, was reduced to dust... just to test the techniques that would later become the blitzkrieg.

Looking forward to seeing the assembly. I haven't built any Brengums before, and now I'm curious to see how they are. They have some interesting models, like the ones from RSModel.

Well I'm off to a start. I have to say the kit has some great detail goodies. My one gripe is that there isn't any good location points and the instructions are a bit vague on correct placement. So far so good though. I took a few liberties on the cockpit detail. Not much to be found on the interweb.

Final assembly and paint. so there's a lot of discretion as to what colour RLM 63 is. Green or or Grey. My AK paints it;s green. Fortunately I still have a bottle of Testors Model Master enamels that's clearly grey. Some notes on assembly. The diagrams have some errors as far as part placements. Also, the thee are no real positive attachment points or pins for the parts. The tiny wheels are two half's, the wheel spats are two half's. care must be taken gluing them together. The struts to the wheels and fuselage is dicey as well. At any rate I hope to get this painted over the weekend. It's going to be a major exercise in masking but I do love the three colour Condor Legion scheme'

Well here are the results of this weekends masking tape O thon. For those that know, it's when the weather runs interference from the war dept. Can't do much but hide in the man cave when It's raining ....right ? Morning Glory gets a break along with the bamboo and blackberries ! Air compressor gets a good workout. Anyways I'm pretty pleased with the results. Gluing the wing on with all the struts will be the next challenge.
