Hello my fellow modellers.

Here's the update of the kite paint works so far. First before the the RLM 70 paint, the masking works:

Then it was time to apply more detail in the engine radiators.
Some metallic mesh was applied to the small crevices in the left cowling, just for more detail. The right cowling is as OOB for comparison....

And finally this is how the kite looks after the main paint works.

It is also noticeable that it was left some masking drops basically on the areas of the heavy maintenance that were about to get peeled off....

And then the main stencils were applied to the fuselage in order to continue with the rest of the RLM 76 "arabesken" squiggles......

And this is the advance so far in order to complete the exterior camo paint works.

In order to apply this RLM 76 paint, I'm intending to make several tests of the paint viscosity and also play with several compressor pressures before these works. I would like the paint lines really thin.....

Have a great week and see you soon.

Hello again my fellow modellers:

Due to a short circuit in my brain, I also published these same theme on the "What´s on your workbench thread" by mistake.

Here's the weekly update of the kite "Arabesken" paint works.

Before the applying the RLM 76 in the kites surfaces, first I made several paint blends, (as well as changing the air brush along with a 2mm nozzle), in an old kite model.

After several tests I found that the best mix was 40% of paint and the rest of distilled water, not thinner. This decision was based that it's easier to clean the thin paint that does not atomize where it is needed or that does not blend properly.

Without further adue, here are the images of the Wellesmuster camouflage as in its "Arabesken" type that I thought appropriate for this kite.

These works were performed in four days between the paint and cleaning works.

The original plan to emulate the 1H + BR had to be changed dur that the last letter ended in my fingers along the paint works.

Now this kite will end up being the + BH.

Also, the Yellow "B", will receive a second black "B" inside the yellow colour.

Then the complete surface received a gloss varnish in order to receive the stencils and the washes that are planned to be applied with oil paints in order to tone down the recently applied RLM 76 (and to camouflage some paint mistakes ) .

Greetings and please have a great week my friends.

Hello again my fellow modelers:

Back to the hobby during this rather busy week.... Don't know if its just me, but when you are immersed in the process of continuing the hobby, there are always people that need attention to other issues.......

Nonetheless, here we go.

First the complete fuselage received a further weathering with pastels, oils and pigments. Tried to make a light weathering but I just can imagine the climatic conditions in battle on the North Sea . Then the fuselage masked clear parts were removed:

Then the final details in the cockpit clear parts were applied such as the main pilot upper curtains, the pilot escape hatch structure and locating the weapon sub assemblies......

In order to manipulate and locate the main frontal clear part, I left two pieces of the masked areas in order to also avoid the finger marks that are common in this stage of the project. Also based on the fact that I have some piggy fingers that leave marks everywhere if not careful enough......

Then positioning everything in the cockpit before closing it. The five seated guys behaved properly in this process....

Finally the cockpit got closed.....

It is worth mentioning that the clear parts are really nice..... Here it is appreciated that before closing the cockpit clear part, first the starboard side was glued, before continuing with the other half. This to ensure that everything gets positioned cause its a tight fit indeed....

The main frontal gun was quite a challenge to finally position it, due to the plastic cover that joins it to the main frontal structure. But I see those little guys smiling inside...

And then Im about to proceed to glue the other half of the cockpit to the main kite body.... But first, I have to position again the yellow cables beneath the curtain..

And this is how the kite looks like as today where now the radar and torpedoes sub assemblies has to get worked in order to think how the torps will be displayed..... Maybe one detached from the main kite?

Please have a great weekend and stay safe....
