Those GSAP cameras produced too many head injuries which is why they were moved to the wing. The gunsight itself also produced a lot of injuries - for example one Aus PM (Gorton from memory) had plastic surgery done by a P-40 gunsight.

Judging by the vent round holes in front of the exhaust pipes, it is not a "purebred" K variant. Especially if the 246 is the beginning of the serial.

P-40K-1 USAAF serials 42-45722 to 46321, 600 built, 336 to USAAF 191 to RAF, 73 to USSR. No other P-40 serials exist starting 42-46xxx

No P-40F-1, 41-13697 to 14299 were F, then came the F-5. 41-14248 shipped to Charleston. sent overseas to "Heath" (India etc.), returned US 11 October 1944.
