Work on book coming along John Vasco John Vasco ?
Yep. I've proof-read the updated text and loss/damage tables twice. I will do another proof-read when everything else is done.

I've selected all of the photos to be included in the updated edition. Put them in month order, and then in date order, as far as that was possible.

Last night, I started on writing the captions for the photos. Only 800+ to get through!

Photo selection is a long-winded process. Deciding what to put in and what to leave out (when there are many photos of the same aircraft). Writing captions is labour-intensive. I do between 5 - 10 at a time then leave the captions for an hour or so. Then go back and read over what I have written on those 5 - 10. Do any changes that I identify, then go on to write a few more. The proverbial 'rinse-and-repeat'.

When the captions are complete, I'll do a final proof-read of text and loss/damage tables, as said above.

In total, when everything is complete, I will have invested north of 1,000 hours. The side of things the public never see when they pick up a book of this type. I should say 'books', as the publisher will split the work into two volumes, separated by months, to make things more 'financially user friendly' for customers.

I met up with Peter Cornwell at the end of August and had a great time reminiscing on the scrapes and adventures we had on our travels through Germany and Austria decades ago. Here's the two pensioner authors now: the Scouser and the Cockney!
