11 July 1940. 9./ZG76 Messerschmitt Bf110C-2, 2N+EP, W. Nr. 3551. Both engines damaged in attacks by Green Section of No.238 Squadron (F/O D.C. MacCaw, P/O J.R. Urwin-Mann and Sgt C. Parkinson) during escort sortie for Stukas of III./StG2 over Portland. Belly-landed at Grange Heath, near Lulworth, harried by S/L J.S. Dewar of No.87 Squadron and F/O Riddle of No.601 Squadron during landing 12.10 p.m. Pilot Oberleutnant Gerhard Kadow (Staffelkapitän) captured slightly wounded, Bordfunker Gefreiter Helmut Scholz captured unhurt.
Kadow was shot in the foot by troops of the Monmouth Regiment after landing whilst attempting to set fire to the aircraft. The relatively intact aircraft was recovered by No.50 MU and taken to RAE Farnborough where it was allocated RAF serial AX774. It was never made air-worthy but cannibalised for spares for another captured Bf110 AX772 (5F+CM of 4.(F)/14).
