BTW ... a Koolhoven FK.51, the Dutch two-seat basic training biplane but not the recce/scout one. As memo serves the planes were used byt the DAF in the recce role in the Dutch East India only. Here in the Europe they were just the training planes. In 1940 during the German invasion on the Netherlands the plane was deemed to be too slow and vulnerable. Being the obsolete the most of them were never used operationally. And the majority of them were destroyed on the ground.

It looks like a Dewoitine D.25 to my eyes, nice picture

Quite close. That's the Dewoitine D.21 C.1. The aircraft is license-built in Czechoslovakia by Škoda factory and known as the Škoda-Dewoitine D.1 or just the Škoda D-1. The Czechoslovak national markings can be noticed on the undersides. Also there is the emblem of the 4th Regiment on the fuselage.

Obviously a W engine. That is : Hispano-Suiza 12Ga (Type 50) , 12 cylinders, b/s 140 x 150 mm, 27,7 litres, 450 hp (no supercharger) . And that's OK for Dewoitine D 21 !
