Thank you MacArther, I will upgrade my 262. As i was running it stock, thinking it should be fast enough. Also my problem is ..... BLAST EVERYTHING!!!!!!

have to say, Midway is my favorite level, though it was hard. I like fly in the Wildcat and shooting down Zeros, Kates, and Vals left to right. When I got in the Dauntless I had to pray to god and fling the plane all over the place from becoming a new sun in the sky.

One of my favorite levels is Midway, because sometimes at the aircraft select screen, my game glitches and the Wildcat can be equppiped with light bombs. This has led to me sinking all of the destroyers when I am supposed to be protecting the Devastators. Added to the destroyers I sink along with the Carrier, and you have quite the anti-vessel person opposing the Japanese. Another favorite level is the warm-up level for the "String-bag". You are just supposed to sink the subs and protect the airfield from the ground forces and gunboats, but I decided that I didn't like the German fighters, so I took them on, and won  . Finally, Dunkirk and the Level after it are my favorites in terms of shear dog-fighting.

PS anyone else gotten to the far village in time to save half of it from the stukas and gotten the secondary objective for it?

See, I took the Boom-and-Zoom method when I played through it the first time using the Spitfire. I went as high as possible while still moving forward, then dove as far toward the objective as I could without crashing. I repeated the process until I got there, with time to spare no less.

Who else thought the level in North Africa where you protect White Rose with a non-upgraded Spitfire was harder because you couldn't upgrade the plane before the mission? I say this, cause I like fast planes that can swoop in, manuever out, and deal damage, so only having the last of those three was a bit of a problem. Maybe its a glitch, but my Spitfire would only go 285 miles per hour, while the String Bag I later upgraded could go 303 mph. The dificulty I ran into was shooting things, runing out of ammo, and flying for what seemed like hours to the supply base, only to return and find White Rose almost dead. Yes, I did use my team mates, but they can be pretty stupid on PS2 if you leave them to their own devices.

My fave level (yes this is a little strange) is the mission where you fly the Swordfish and sink the German convoy, whilst protecting White Rose. That was fun trying to dodge the German Bf109s at the end of the mission. I also enjoy flying with the Flying Tigers, and competing with them for the best score. Woot!

The Stalingrad mission is good and I also like the challenge that follows it up when you have to blow Ju 88s and ground targets! Midway was hard as hell for me but I like using the AA gun on it:)

I wish I could do that because:

a)Those destroyers are pesky!

b) The Dauntlesses somehow managed to get ripped apart by a few of the nearly destroyed Zekes that I missed.

c) And generally you could blow up more stuff!:D

See, to fix the Zeke problem when you are escorting the torp-bombers, go for the Zekes imediately threatening the bombers. Keep at top speed unless you have to get one off your tail. While this is going on, work your way towards the carriers with your torp buddies, so that when the message "The carriers are launching planes...tear them up on the deck." comes up, you're already in a position to strafe along the deck of the carrier at low speeds to destroy all of the Zekes sitting there. If you do all of this right, then the Dautlesses don't lose any planes because there should be no fighters around when you press the switch-air-target button. Also, for the Wildcat having light bombs, yes its nice, but I've only been able to do it twice, so don't count on it happening often if at all. Also, even if you sink the support ships in that stage, there are still other destroyers to contend with when you go to finish off the carrier as the dautless. Oh, and I found the best way to keep your fighter support intact during the dautless mission is to have them hang back until you are on your bombing runs for the carrier and 1 destroyer (sinking 1 destroyer on that mission section nets you an upgrade point), then have them defend you, but if you see them starting to get ripped apart, finish the job, and forget about the destroyer.

You do know that if you shoot down the Ju-88s they are accompanying then you get a bonus upgrade point or two right? Also, yeah, those 190s (which is what I'm assuming you were talking about) were a pain in the butt, especially because I was running low on ammo after shooting down alot of planes and towers/AA guns, and bombing all of the tanks and recon cars. Had to retry from the checkpoint I think, because I didn't have the health or ammo to fight them, it was something like that.
