Fiat G50 352 Squad 1941 propeller colour

Hey guys,

Trying to find out the correct colour of these propellers. I've made the usual mistake of following kit instructions and painted them black. A look online at some completed models I'm seeing lots of them silver and others black. On photos it's tricky, some even look like 'grey' or metallic.

on this kite it appears only the tips are metal -silver ....but can't tell the rest due to contrast, but doesn't look black.

This one they appear quite dark...is that black or dark grey?

On many of the Fiat-Hamilton production aircraft the front prop was a ghost grey or even light blue and the back black but by 1941 it believe they were all painted black and I've no idea about the tip.

Yes I agree, which shows the propeller itself is not silver...much darker

I agree .. the most props were of either the light blue colour (~FS 35466) or silver/aluminium ( NMF) with the balde back of the black coat. Later the prop blades of the black overall and not necessarily with the yellow tips. The dust and sand damaged the black paint usually, causing scratches, flaking or peeling off.

Ok cool, so I've gone with a silver-(darkened more to a light gunmetal) front and black rear.... looks good.
