The Do 217K-2, was a specialized naval version based on the K-1. I would use the Fritz X guided pump, filling two under the motors. It had longer wings (24.8 m (98.03 ") vs 19 m (74.80") of a K-1) to give better behavior at high altitudes when transporting the heavy Fritz-X bombs. About 40 were manufactured. The armament was the same as that of a K-1. Some K-2s had a rigid mount MG 81Z in the tail, pointed by a telescope, although it was not very effective.
This is the greatest achievement that is known of this plane in particular, true that the ships and their bombs were very feared by the mediuterraneo by the allied ships

It is 15:52 on 9th September 1943 and a German Dornier Do 217 bomber drops a FX 1400, a state of the art precision-guided bomb over the designated target: battleship Roma. The sailors on the gigantic Italian ship are trying to recover from the first bomb when they see the second one falling from the sky. They've never seen that bomb before, it's steering and changing its trajectory in the air. It's aiming at the Roma again!

A few seconds later, the second FX 1400 hits the battleship's, turret nº. 2 and the forward engine room and magazine are detonated. This causes a column of flame and smoke to rise for a thousand metres, killing and burning 1,352* people out of 2,021. Years later, one of the few survivors said: "Even the devil decided to keep out from that hell".

my interpretation of the plane:
