FW-190F: How effective was it as a ground-attack fighter?

It may have been adequate at ground support, but it was all the Luftwaffe had in the later part of the war. Imagine the Ninth US Air Force and RAF 2 Tactical Airforce with only P-47s and Typhoons, no Mitchells, Marauders, A-20s.

The Luftwaffe had several twin-engine types in service up to war's end, such as the Ju88, but without adequate fighter protection, they were not as common during daytime operations on the Western front as they were on the Eastern front.
