Hurricaneing along. Ok boo bad joke, I cut some slots in the lower wing for the shell chutes and I also drilled out the machine gun holes in the wing. I figure it will look a lot better than a red decal with four black spots on it. Bottom is painted. Let to do. Make a vacu-form canopy. I sanded down the kit canopy as thin as I could and will use that as a plug, The remains the upper camouflage, decals, matte coat, weathering and radio wires.

Canopy vacu-forming work. 1st go at it. Not too bad but I'm not happy with how I masked it so I'm going for a 2nd attempt. I'm hoping to get it completed by the due date. An extension won't help as I am being benched for most of the following week. See how it goes.

Would love to see your Vac Forming rig some day Graham.
My set up is kind of stupid simple. I used a flashlight casing. Where the lens goes I replace with some expanded steel mesh. Then I cut a hole in the side for a nozzle for a shop vac and glued it in with hot glue. The piece of wood is screwed to the bottom and gets clamped in a vice to hold it.Then out of wood and a paint stir stick I mad a holder for the plastic. Cut a square piece and screw it down between the two circular pieces. It's just a simple matter of heating up the plastic until it starts to sag and then plop it down over the plug with the shop vac hooked up to it. I used to use an old toaster oven to heat the plastic but I've since found my hot air gun works a lot better. And yes, I know, my bench looks like it's from the "Oscar Madison" collection. It is !
