Update from post #27 and the missing canopy frame. FOUND IT. Spent the afternoon cleaning the workbench and it was under the big box I use as a paint booth. In the words of the immortal Jimmy Buffet; "How it got there I haven't a clue".
You placed it there to protect it, yeah, yeah that's it, to protect it see!

I once lost a Bf 109 landing gear strut and spent hours looking for it before giving up and fabricating a new one. It turned up some time later in the bottom of the washing machine. Best I can figure is that it somehow dropped into one of my pockets and came out in the wash.

Started painting and I'm doing the fin flashes in paint instead of decal. I don't want to tape over the aluminum finish so the gloss black and silver will be last. I have the blue flash masked off but I didn't know exactly how it was laid out on the underside. Instead of trying to research that, as Squadron Commander, I taped it up the way I wanted it.

To those of you who can get good results out of old kits, my hat is off to you. The canopy fitment is terrible and it has taken the joy out of building this. It's more of a "just get it done" feel.
