GB-67 1/72 Do-335 - Twin Engine in WWII

Here is the instrument panel from the NASM Pfeil and the kit. I added the side consoles and put some cut up decal on to represent the dials and buttons. I'll try to add a sliver of clear plastic to the gunsight after I get the front canopy on.

Here is the seat detail. I added the cushion and seat belts to the seat and some strips on the back panel (probably part of the ejection seat). The props are the front on the left and the rear on the right. I had to switch the front and rear props and turn the blades on one to get the correct orientation.

Here is the Jeep after finishing the basic painting. I got to use my new circle cutter to mask the hubcaps; worked really well. I used the new Vallejo paints instead of my usual Tamiya. Paints well but doesn't cover a well as Tamiya. This would be a good thing if I had planned ahead but I sprayed the seats and masked them off, so the body is a little different from the windscreen part. This would be an advantage for the pre-shade approach. There is no clear for the windshield so I'm looking for some thin flat plastic packaging to put in there. I found a used decal sheet of various sized and styled US star markings and other generic vehicle numbers and markings for $1 at local hobby.

Not sure what is going on with the gray. I used Tamiya XF-63 as the instructions called for, and it looks darker in the bottle. I masked the top to spray the light blue on the bottom, so I can't see now what it looks like right now. The patches in my paint booth (a large cardboard box) look darker. This may be the light I used as it was dark out when I took the picture. The Jeep did get some really thin plastic packaging to make the windshield. Too bad I didn't think to position it to show off that detail. There is a outside mirror to install, but that will wait till it goes on the base.

Humm .. the XF-63 is an equivalent of the RLM66 that was used for the cockpit interiors rather than for the ouside camo for the Pfeils. The top colours were the RLM 81/82 mostly. The alternative could be the RLM 74/75 or a mixed using of the RLM81/82 with the RLM70/71.

With Wojtek. The callouts included in the paint schematic in post 1 don't show XF-63 but are quite off anyway. The dark green RLM 81 is called out as XF-24 which is a grey and incorrect.
