Well, our shop (Joe Yancey's Shop) is doing the overhaul of Glacier Girl's spare engines and we finished the left engine today. Will have it on the test stand tomorrow and running same day or Wednesday. Depends on the weather, we don't really want to run it in the rain if we don't have to do so. The paint job is wonderful. Why make it dirty? This one went together really well, though we had a few delays due to the National Warbird Operators Conference at Chino 2 weekends ago and few mecahnical challenges. All were overcome and the carburetor goes on at 9:30 am tomorrow morning.
The engine was balanced at ± .5 grams per piston - rod combo, and should run VERY smoothly. Looking forward to seeing it FLY! ... SOON. We finished the right engine earlier, but have to disassemble it and change the pistons back to stock from the JRS modification. That takes a while, but isn't especially complex ... just labor intensive.
Jusy FYI.
