Here's something you don't see every day, a Grumman Goose in USCG colors. I am going to have to build that Lindberg kit I have.

Years ago I was tempted to do the same and collected these original photos. Never came to that point though....Here's something you don't see every day, a Grumman Goose in USCG colors. I am going to have to build that Lindberg kit I have.
N42GL, the late and much missed Chuck Greenhill's airplane c/n B-52, it now has a new and very lucky owner. At one time one of the first Turbine Gooses owned by Alaska Coastal-Ellis Airlines as N4773C, after being wrecked and rebuilt it was converted back to P&W R-985 radials. We had one land at Bardstown, KY (BRY) a few days ago.View attachment 685485
Both color USCG JRF-5G Goose photos were taken by the late William T. Larkins at Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco in the 1950s.Years ago I was tempted to do the same and collected these original photos. Never came to that point though....

They do a lot of work for Collings, so you probably are right. If my hunch is correct, that's N985R c/n B-86 owned by the Collings Foundation.
