In a more serious note, creativity is not what matters anymore. What matters nowadays is money and looks, together with the shortcuts to get either one or the another one, or both.

Money and looks -- I have neither, but I am lazy. Creative in my own mind, however many models started and unfinished, so I qualify.

IMO cinema is dead. There is nothing remotely interesting being made by Hollywood these days that is worth the price of a movie ticket. In fact, the last 10 movies I've gone to the cinema for were re-screenings of classic - First Blood, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Warriors, Uncle Buck etc.

Saw an explanation that circa 2010 the studios started deciding that there were too many white male writers for TV shows, movies, etc. After that, the percentage of white male writers dropped from over half to well under half. Whenever you arbitrarily exclude the majority of the working population from being employed in a certain profession you severely decrease the quality of the product. no matter what it is. Try that with plumbers, firemen, electricians, lumberjacks, auto mechanics, airline pilots, landscape workers, truck drivers, policemen, power company linemen, etc., and the results will be utter disaster. With a lack of writers we just get crap on TV and the movies while the lights stay on and the plumbing still works.
I recall reading that the actor Red Foxx, after the successful TV series "Sanford and Son" announced that his new show would use only black writers. After a half season of failing to acceptable scripts, one day he yelled, "I give up! Get me some Joooos!" It's not a matter of white males being better than everyone else; it is that if you severely limit your intake of ideas and talent there are results. Now they do a remake of everything, regardless.
It is less a case of Laziness than it is one of Barriers.
