Hello

A successful nightfighter, first German plane able to intercept RAF Mosquito by night.

Dragon kit includes photo-etched parts. Its a bit labor-intensive, but styling of this plane requites that!.

But you can't fool me trying to hide the tail support!

Ha! I think, I couldn't fool even a blindman with my computer-graphic skills !. Yes, It's a tailsitter. There is practically no space for additional weight in the fuselage. I've put some lead in the engines, but they are too close to balance center (main wheels). I have erased tail support (piece of guitar string) in some photos only for esthetic reasons.

Is that the kit canopy?

Yes. Dragon kit is full of contraditions. Main bodywork parts needs some makeovers during assembly, and a lot of putty.
But glass is brilliant, details are accurate, etched parts and decals are also very good (except a lack of triangle chevrons in the fuselage,-they were present in mjr. Streib's machine).

Very nice model. I have plans to start mine this coming year!
Nice to hear I'll need to be creative to put as much weight as I can to prevent this tail seating thing.
Cheers

Your nightfighter is very good looking :thumbright:; I liked the clarity of the canopy and the excellent painting work you did there.
It is a small scale and it is seen that the structure of the plane does not give much margin to put weight.

Maybe one option for the tail support is to use a small acrylic or glass tube. A suggestion.

I have found a rebox of Dragon kit by "Platz" company (never seen, -absent in Polish mart). Model box consists...additional weight.
Tricky, and giving a conception how big the weight should be!.

What a great build and a clean finish!

Very nice and clean build, especially like the subtle camouflage ! Having the Uhu from Tamiya in my stash I like to see builds of the Uhu.
What puzzled me is the shape of the canopy at the aft side. It's so differend from the picture and drawings I can find on the internet?
Is this a mistake from the manufacturer or a unknown version?

I think rear part of canopy is a remain of planned defense machine gun (never fitted there in fact).

My model shows early produced aircraft (V-9 werk nr.190 009), in fact a ninth prototype.
