I few shots of Danish interwar Float planes carried on the inspektionsskibet (inspection ship) Ingolf of the Royal Danish Navy. The 1st type a Heinkel, and the 2nd type a Hawker Dantorp H.B. III. Only a handful of each type were operated by the Danes.

I would not say bias, in my thinking if it floats, it's good.

Agree entirely.

I had to look up that particular aircraft. It's a Short Gurnard MkII. The closely-cowled Rolls Royce Kestrel made me think it was a Hawker product originally but I wasn't aware that any of the Hawker Hart-series just had a single float. Despite its name, the Gurnard performed well in trials and met all the requirements of the specification. Alas (for the poor Gurnard) the Hawker Osprey outperformed it, and so the Short product lost the contract and was consigned to the scrapheap.
