The other thing that is cringey over there is the way they refer to people as n00bs - in that pseudo hackers writing. It's pathetic and geeky!

Especially from wannabe soldiers. In my limited experience, real soldiers, sailors, and airmen want help out the new guy. And for a computer game - yes folks, a game, it's especially sad.

Well, you said it. They're geeks! Many of them strike me as the sort who rely on the sheer anonymity provided by the internet in order to build themselves up into something that's completely bogus.
If that is the case, then you're right. It's pathetic, regardless.
