info on russian plane

i heard about a Russian biplane fighter , but the odd thing is that the lower wing was retractable in to the top one, does anybody knows more details, pics or at least the name?
 
I believe you're talking about the Nikitin Schevchenko IS-4. Look in the Aircraft Requests forum, I started a thread about it a while ago.
 
the a/c is a nikitin-sevchenko IS-1 or IS-2 both which flew in 1939-40 but was quashed because the electro hydraulic system for wings was too maintainence intensive for operational use
