btw...for the record...I totally agree with you, Thor. The restaurant chains are jumping on the bandwagon as well, and making a hefty buck off of it. My wife and I don't even bother going out to eat on Valentine's Day, since before we got married. We tried once. Managed to get into McDonalds. That was the only place that didn't have an hour or more wait.
I bought flowers for my wife once, in late Feb or something, and the gal at the checkout snickered and said something about "Valentine's was two weeks ago!". I told her it wasn't for Valentine's Day, that Bugsy Moran had it coming to him (the light behind her eyes sorta clicked off at that), and I was buying the flowers for a much better reason: it was Tuesday, and I didn't need a single day each year with tons of commercialism to remind me to let my wife know I love her. So I make it a point of NOT getting anything for her on VDay.
