found something also from 506th fighter group site Mustaqngs of Iwo: Mustaqngs of Iwo, 506th Fighter Group, 457 Fighter Squadron, 458 Fighter Squadron, 462 Fighter Squadron Lawrence Smith 472601

On July 8 a large enemy gaggle bounced strafing Mustangs near Tokyo and in the ensuing battle downed seven for the loss of five. But the 51s more than evened the score by claiming 45 e/a destroyed on the ground

this article mentions scamara saw two georges behind scanlan on 23rd june
Aircraft identification in the heat of battle was often wrong and it's clear that the P-51 on 23 June was shot down by Akamatsu Sadaaki and Saijo Toru flying J2M3s. 302 Kokutai J2Ms made victory claims and no one else did. When Scamara saw two "Georges" behind Scanlan on 23 June it becomes obvious that he misidentified the J2Ms and thought that they were N1Ks and he saw Akamatsu and Saijo attacking Scanlan.

i guess youre right

While on july 8 a pilot from 78th FS reported

That a lone Jack appeared from the clouds and wich set Sherren's P-51D-25 "mustang 136" on fire near hyakurigahara

Was actually An N1K1-jb otsu flown by either Ishizaka Asakura, or Keizaburo.

Yes this is correct

on july 8 a P-47N 44-88059 was shot down by japanese fighters over kyushu, they believed that they were attacked by Ki-44s or N1K georges
This is very interesting because I have not heard of this P-47 loss before. I'm not sure which Kokutai or Sentai shot down that P-47 because I can't find any Japanese claims over Kyushu on this day.
