Looking for information or resources on VLR escort missions flown out of Iwo Jima.

I am looking for information regarding this as I am recreating a mission in IL-2 1946 (an excellent sim). I am looking for things like records of which aircraft went up on which days, both for escort fighters and for bombers, where in formation they would have flown, as well as accounts, as I am trying to recreate a mission with as much accuracy as possible. I don't care what date or mission target, just the most documented one I suppose. Thanks.

For a start here is a website that lists the VLR missions, with some mission details, flown by the 506th from May 1945 to August 1945.
