One question - would a Mosquito FB.XVIII count? Technically it is a fighter, but with a dedicated sub-hunting gun.

It fits in the guidelines; primarily over ocean operations with a mission to specifically attack U-boats on the surface with a large cannon.

Great choice! The same model (later reboxed by Italeri AFAIK) was at my local hobby shop, among dozens of old models. I was keen to buy it because of a livery I've seen as a child (which is shown as a boxart BTW):

Unfortunately the price was too high, compared with other models for sell and I believe I ended buying 2-3 Japanese Otaki/Arii 1/48 models for the money they wanted. Great to see it build here.

Yes, Catch 22,I also have the Italeri that I will build together with this one and that will serve as a master to reproduce the pieces of the interior that were not there in the old Supermodel... The red striped livery is beautiful

Thanks! I do remember reading about the interior being added to the new Italeri-model but at that time I stopped collecting any further information. You have a great plan for that double-build! Kudos!
