Hi people, I've almost completed my little IAR81c. However the kit did not have canons. You have to supply / scratch your own! So I am going to get some hypodermic needle tips, but not sure what gauge to get. Does anyone have info on diameter of MG151 barrel? ok thanks

The diameter sounds correct. :thumbright:

The barrel lenght of the Mg 151/20 was 1,104 m

So ... 1,104m / 72 = 0,0153333m

0,0153333m x 100 =1,53333 cm

what is

15mm

Yes but some of that will be inside the wing... the length protruding I scaled approx 11.5mm. 12.5mm looks better.

I thought I was too gash and didn't want to post that I scaled the 151/20 barrel as 30mm dia and 80cm from the end of the thick part to the muzzle.
You can probably do better with some scale photo's.

In the pic attached to my post #7 the barrel is protruding almost to the front fastener on the engine cowling ( in the drawings as well ). So using your model , take a ruler and measure the distance from the wing leading edge to the fastener on the model. And you have the dimension. Nothing more to add.

I scaled off your schematic and came up with 87.4cm = 12.1mm @ 1/72. LOL when I said 12.5 looked better than 11.5 my eye picked out that 1mm difference...lololol... how good is that!

PS on the photo i believe there will be some parallax error judging where it is against the fuselage
