Another addition to the biplane collection is Heller's old 1/72 DH Dragon Rapide kit. (Actually it's a re-pop by Tasman, and the moulds have suffered somewhat since the original 70s tooling.) This represents a flying advertising hoarding from the early 50s, which utilised neon lettering to advertise things like cigarettes or, in this case, a movie. The Tasman kit included the framing/lettering as 3D-printed parts which were a tad over-sized but look OK. They also supplied glow-in-the-dark powder for the neon letters (honest!) but I couldn't get the stuff to work... As far as the model's concerned I re-scribed some panels on the engine, re-glazed the windows and rigged it with UVDR thread.
Mike it took me awhile to scroll through all 8 pages, I had to keep going to clean myself up. Phenomenal modeling is all I can say!
Absolutely phenomenal!!
