The North Texas Patriot Guard has been asked to participate in an escort to take a bus load of WWII veterans from the Waxahachie Texas civil center to Love Field in Dallas. The organization called "Honor Flight" will be flying these veterans free of charge to Washington DC to visit the WWII meorial and see a couple of other things in Washington. Honor Flight's mission is to get as many of the WWII veterans to Washington to see their memorial as possible for they are all gone forever. It took over 60 years for the members of The Greatest Generation to have their memorial built and many are now too old and ill to make the trip so it is Honor Flight's mission to take these people to see it. The entire trip is free to the veterans and is paid entirely by donations.

With the rate at which WWII veterans are dying, approximately 1500 to 2000 a day, there is a real chance that most of us may not get to do something tangible for a WWII veteran other than attend their funeral. These people are in their 80's now.
