This is the first prototype of the Nakajima G8N1 bomber. This would have been quite effective had it reached squadron use but with all other advanced Japanese projects it was "too little,too late" . This is the old Hasegawa kit to 1/72 scale. The kit still holds up well although some putty is needed.

Nice work Ed, you don't see too many of these built – perhaps it's because of all that cockpit framing. What paint did you use for the orange?
 
From above its planform is very remissant of the B17, although the shape of the nose ahead of the pit, seems like it has some B24 influence too...

Looks like quite a nice kit too - I'm sure it/you had a couple of 'fiddley' bits?, any more photo's perhaps?

The engines kinda of remind me of a B29.Nice crate Ed
