Unfortunately he might have been better off leaving aside speculation about possibly dozens of buried Spitfires, and been a little more realistic about searching the records, serial number lists, squadron log books etc - might have saved a lot of grief for himself and others.

With the climate in Burma it's possible that there is nothing left anyways.

Now I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to track down aircraft lost on the Takoradi-Egypt air route?
Might be a better chance to find something still there...
