I noticed that, but after you commented I had to check it out. Apparently, those curtains are painted on the fuselage. You know those Germans and their dainty civilized needs. I'm surprised there's not a beer stein in sight.

Of interest: the LFG Roland C.II "Walfisch" was perhaps, one of the most popular types to sport "sharkmouth" artwork.
