Hi There Paul,

My Grandfather was based in Egypt and Italy and i recently found his photo's of his time there during WWII.

He was ground crew in the South African Airforce during that time. I think this is him standing next too what i believe could be the aircraft you were looking for...



What your connection to the aircraft and do you know if it still fly's today or is it stored away in a museum somewhere?

You are welcome. The original photo's were all black n white and in not such good condition. He had another one of a P38 which could be the same plane from a different angle but the image quality is too faded...
