I saw an American movie set in 1943 in which a P-40 climbed up after a zooming Bf109K, caught it and shot it down. It's CGI, so it must have happened!

Actually it was a technique used by Clive ''Killer'' Caldwell when he flew P40's, they couldn't catch 109's diving from above so he developed a way of shooting up at them as they flew overhead.
